When the Only Child Becomes the Only Strength

Last year, Acel’s world quietly changed.

In August 2025, her mom was diagnosed with Stage 3C breast cancer.
By September, she had already undergone surgery. They held on to hope.

But cancer does not always move gently.

Today, it has spread to her brain. She now urgently needs radiation therapy to help lessen the numbness and prevent further complications. And soon after, she must undergo 12 cycles of chemotherapy — each cycle costing ₱115,000, bringing the total treatment cost to ₱1,380,000.

Acel is an only child.
She is carrying this alone.

Senior parents. Mounting hospital bills. Savings already exhausted from last year’s treatments. And yet, she continues to show up — as a daughter, as a provider, as her mother’s strength.
